Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday invited both governments and business communities of CLMV countrie --Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam -- to actively partner in India's 'Make in India' programme.
Speaking at the 4th India-CLMV Business Conclave, organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), she said: "India would also participate with the countries ' title='CLMV countries '>CLMV countries in the region's manufacturing growth."
"India and the countries ' title='CLMV countries '>CLMV countries could deepen each other's manufacturing capabilities, learn from each other's experiences and create a stronger regional platform for trade and commerce," the Minister said.
She said there is a great potential for Indian investments in the CMLV countries.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said the Southeast Asian countries Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) could become important strategic business partners with Rajasthan.
She pointed out that Rajasthan was successful in business partnerships and "our associations with Japan and Singapore were examples of this".
She said these countries should extend cooperation with the state in agriculture, manufacturing, jewellery and tourism. Inviting the entrepreneurs and governments of these countries to partner for business and investment she said that through these collaborations they could play an important role in the socio-economic development in the respective countries.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
