The number new cases is lowest in 118 days. With 2,020 fatalities in last 24 hours, India's death toll reached 4,10,784, said the Union health and family welfare ministry data on Tuesday.This is the 35th consecutive day when India reported less than one lakh new coronavirus cases.
Interacting with Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states on the Covid-19 situation via video conferencing on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is a matter of concern to see such big crowds without masks and social distancing in hill stations.Narendra Modi said there is a need to curb the Covid-19 situation at the micro level.“The number of Covid-19 cases is rising. We need to take strict action to curb the situation at the micro level. We need to keep an eye on COVID variants, experts are studying them.
