In a major setback for the Delhi Unit of the Congress, its senior leader AK Walia has resigned from the party.
Unhappy with the ticket distribution for civic polls scheduled to be held on April 23. Senior Congress leader Dr. AK Walia alleged that tickets for upcoming MCD elections were being sold for money.
Speaking to media, Walia said, "Every time new committee is formed,they interview us like class 8 students. What is my use if they are unable to understand me"
Walia also added that he would sit at home and work."Will look for other ways to serve in Delhi."
Walia was MLA from Laxminagar constituency for four consecutive terms.He has served as a state minister in the Sheila Dikshit government and held Health, Urban Development, Land and Building portfolios.
